PREXAM, Your Exam Preparation Partner

PREXAM, Your Exam Preparation Partner

It is always difficult to write about something that you have been working on to provide just an overview. But I was not sure what part of PREXAM would the reader be interested in so I decided to divide in two parts viz. Story behind PREXAM and PREXAM overview and you can choose what you want to read about.

The Story behind PREXAM:
The story begins all the way back in 2007, second year of my engineering days when my father, Mr Bharat K. Doshi, now the Director of Prime Softech Solution; first introduced me to this brilliant idea of his, to develop a software that would randomly select questions from the database and compile a test for student based on his choice of topic and marks. I tried to develop this based on whatever knowledge I had by then about computer programming, and got it working too and testing it on LAN but what next. The knowledge was certainly not sufficient to take up a complete project on my own and as time went by I got busy with studies was not able to pursue it further. But it remained in my mind forever and same was with my father. And he did try to get this done by some other software companies but nobody was successful to build it completely. I completed my Master from USC in Computer Science in 2011 and started Prime Softech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and decided to take this up as my first project. With the help of knowledge that gained academically and two of engineering classmates was finally able to bring this dream into reality. PREXAM was launched as a beta version initially for T.Y.B.com students for testing purpose and we collected first round of feedback and apart from few small bugs the software was running flawless.  This boosted my confidence and we launched and advertised for the CA-CPT (Charted Accountancy Entrance Exam) in February 2012 and got a tremendous response from students throughout India. We got some excellent feedback from teachers as well as students few of which have now become star features in PREXAM. We decided to pursue this project further and grow its horizons in all directions. From here PREXAM has never turned back and has now grown to hosts more and more courses as well as useful features. Further expansion is planned and we hope to bring it to execution soon.

PREXAM Overview:
In simple words PREXAM is an excellent tool for self-evaluation of your preparation for exam. When a student studies, the major part consists of reading but to face exams confidently, re-collecting what you read and practice to solve questions in time is essential. PREXAM becomes your study partner here. Every time you read a chapter or subject, you can login to PREXAM and take a test on that topic. Once the test is over, your answers are evaluated immediately and you can view the correct answers along with their solutions. Further the “Prep Analysis” report will compare your scores and tell you where you stand among your peers appearing for the same exam as yours. It will guide you on your current preparation level and helps you understand where you need to improve. Further it will make you take error correction test on topics which has wrongly answered questions by you and help you see that your preparation has improved or not.
This website has received tremendous response from students all over India and also neighboring countries. Our emails are flooding with suggestions to add more courses, subjects and questions and the complete team is working diligently to provide best quality service and features to students through PREXAM that would help them with their studies and also fulfill their requests.
If you happen to try this website please mail me the feedback. Good or bad, both are welcome and would allow us to improve and inspire us to grow.

Internet for Education

When I decided to start writing about something on my blog, this was the most obvious topic that came to my mind. Working in this field for last few years and the passion for technology in general, has certainly brought me to a point where I would like to share this knowledge that I have gained.
When I started researching a bit about this before writing, I came to a conclusion that there could be a complete series of articles that could be written. Starting from using Internet and mobile/tablet Apps for kindergarten kids for stories and learning alphabets, to using internet for free courses for those who were not able to pursue their dream of education or learning as well as for those who would like to gain insights of courses not directly related to their academics but are still useful.
Education is a top priority for individuals and families even though it might cost a good amount of families’ resources because people are increasingly becoming aware that education is the only thing that can change the living conditions of a family and society in general. And internet has become a medium for the educators to reach larger masses and thus provide equal opportunity to all students to learn and get educated.
Internet has always been a source of information and knowledge about anything and everything. Search engines like Google, Bing and yahoo have brought this information at your hand by predicting exactly what you would be looking for when you type in something on the browser. Students, parents and teachers use this information for their studies, homework, assignments and projects. But the magic of internet truly amaze us, when students in a remote village can view the lectures and ask questions to the professor, who is physically teaching in a metro city, yet available to so many others for guidance at the same time. Growing speed of internet and decrease in cost of equipments has made this possible today. And with this we know the future of education is brighter and location would not bar one’s right to get good guidance and knowledge.
When I started with PREXAM, I didn’t really make a conscious choice and it just happened. But now when I look back, I feed proud to be the part of the community struggling to create equal opportunity for education to all. So I will start writing this series with a dearest topic to me: PREXAM.
